  • 167 | Triathletes and yoga | Feat. Louise Croxson

    23/06/2021 Duration: 35min

I ran a marathon once… Yup, exactly one time. That was my first and it will be my last. But some people LIVE FOR IT! In many cases, these marathoners train year after year all year long. Then, they add in biking and swimming and call it a party! Yes, I’m talking about that unique beast: the triathlete. I never really knew how dedicated you have to be to participate in a triathlon. Nor did I realize how much training is involved. Then I met Louise Croxson.I have had the privilege of working with Louise as her business coach. What blew me away when we first started working together is how she had this niche in yoga that I have never seen executed before: Yoga for Triathletes! I’ve seen alllllll of the yogas but this one is fresh and frankly super intelligent. Louise is this week's guest on the pod. Tune in for a story about what these amazing athletes do and how yoga supports them in their training. You will certainly pick up some tips and tricks for your own yoga practice (even if you’ve never run a

  • 166 | We're building a home | Feat. Danni + Yvonne

    16/06/2021 Duration: 37min

It took me a long time to realize how much I could accomplish simply by putting my mind to it. I never really believed in my potential. And then sometimes when I did consider the incredible things I was manifesting, I failed to take a step back and appreciate how it was my focused attention that brought about all that positive change. The entire time I was comparing myself to others that were “farther along” the path instead of walking my own. And now, for the first time in a long time, I feel like I am truly living. I would not have realized any of this without the time to pause, breathe, and reflect with my best gal pal Yvonne Kingsley who joins me on this podcast. In this episode, Yvonne takes the wheel. She drives down the windy road of coming to the decision to open a yoga studio in San Francisco. It’s been one hell of a ride already, and now here we are. If you have not had a chance to check us out yet, head over to @haum.sf and say hello! You can also check out more of our story at www.haumsf.comFo

  • 165 | It's All Yoga | Feat. Annie Carpenter

    26/05/2021 Duration: 41min

I never really thought a walk in nature was yoga, but it’s true. Any gateway to a mindful side is all a part of the practice. When Annie Carpenter mentioned this to me, it got me curious about other areas that bring us there. You see, Annie has this gift; she’s been teaching for a while and, in my opinion, is one of the titans. She has this special way of inviting you into your body without taking you fully out of the experience. She balances this fine line with grace and ease. It’s truly something special to see. I am so glad to have her on the show this week. What I loved about our convo is how easy it flowed. We’ve circled around one another in SF, and she’s always been someone I love and respect. She drops some beautiful wisdom about yoga that will make you reflect on all the places yoga truly is (y'all... it's everywhere!). This is one of those episodes that, for me, could have easily gone two hours. Listen and enjoy!Follow Annie on Instagram @anniecarpentersmartflowMUSIC: Process by 92elmSUPPO

  • 164 | A Trans Lens in Yoga | Feat. Michelle Crawford

    05/05/2021 Duration: 34min

Being a member of the LGBT+ community has made for some interesting plot twists in my life! It has obviously shaped me in a big way. And, like many of you, there have been a number of times during which I felt unsafe just for being who I am. This has happened as a young man and as an adult. Yoga was one of the places I did feel safe. I recently led a workshop on fostering LGBT+ yoga communities from the lens of my journey, but I know that there are so many amazing queer voices out there. As I build the studio out, I have thought at length about how to ensure it’s a safe space for my LGBT+ brothers and sisters.Michelle Crawford @mick.crawdad and I met a few years ago as we practiced within the same San Francisco yoga communities. She identifies as trans and kindly agreed to come on the show and share her voice. Her story is incredible and the ways she incorporated yoga on her journey is amazing. The tools of the practice helped her through her transition. She is an advocate for the trans community and continue

  • 163 | Stay in the Stillness| Feat. Rocky Heron

    28/04/2021 Duration: 51min

One of the greatest honors in this life is to witness my friends inside their growth process. I often get to see them step into their authentic truth, which is such a gift! Being allowed in to see someone’s life and to hear of all the twists and turns on their path is pretty damn special. This week's podcast is Part 2 of a check-in with one of my best buds, Rocky Heron @rockyheron. It had been a minute since we’ve podcasted, so we gave each other some air to talk about what is new in each other’s world. What I love about these two conversations with Rocky is how real we kept them. This is an invitation to listen to us express who we truly are in this moment and where we’re both headed on our yoga journeys and in our lives. • 162 | Intentional Growth| Feat. Rocky Heron

    23/04/2021 Duration: 46min

My mind is still blown by the reality of my opening a yoga studio in San Francisco. I took a moment and reflected back on all the things that have gotten me to this place and this space -- All the boxes I thought I needed to check. All the yoga teachers whose voices I borrowed until I found the power of my own. And, you know what? I wouldn’t take any of it back, because it’s gotten me to this place of deeply knowing my truth and passion. There’s no way around it: I love building community and holding safe space. It brings so much joy into my life. Rocky Heron @rockyheron and I haven’t done a pod together in a few months, but today we tuned in together. Prepare for the typical shenanigans and some checking in on where we are in life. We both had a few things on the brain, so this is part one of two. This episode shines a light on where I am at with my journey and what I am doing to move forward. Tune in today and watch out for Part 2!Follow Rocky on Instagram @rockyheronMUSIC: Process by 92elmSU

  • 160 | You Deserve Rest | Feat. Tracee Stanley

    07/04/2021 Duration: 43min

How many times have you heard yourself saying “HARD WORK.” Rather let me rephrase that, how many times have you heard me say, “I AM WORKING HARD''. I never once stopped to bother and think, “Why can’t the work be work but not hard all the time?”. Like why is it I have to create even its tone that it’s difficult? Tracee Stanley blew my mind when she brought me to the realization that it doesn’t always have to be hard. That we, in fact, deserve to rest. How many times did I have to burn out to realize this? (3… 3 is the correct answer in case you were curious...lol) This week on the podcast, I am thrilled to have Tracce back on the show. We met a few years back on the festival circuit. I had heard so much about her but never had the opportunity to practice with her; in fact, I had never even done a nidra before. But when I did, WOW. Just wow. In this episode, we talk about her new book Radiant Rest. It has been such a treat to see her put all her magic into this book. I have already taken a deep dive into it, an

  • 159 | Navigating as a Human | Feat. Jack Workman

    24/03/2021 Duration: 40min

It’s HARD being human!!!!! Am I right? Navigating what labels society assigns you, navigating the way that others see your physical body (and the way that you see your physical body), navigating any depression or anxiety that comes along with that... You get where I’m going with this, right? I recently had an email come through thanking me for being so courageous and real in my storytelling. It’s important in my teaching and leadership to be authentically me so that others feel seen and represented and not alone. I’m here to share hope and show that there is a path forward towards being our true selves. This week on the pod, I connect with @jackworkmanyoga, a fellow queer yogi. He brings courage like no other on this episode. He had a recent IG post about his own experience with body image issues and I knew I had to hear him speak more of his truth. Like many of us, Jack has gone through ups and downs, but his reliance shines through. Yoga teaching is not always as glamorous as some people might assu

  • 158 | Hello Shadow Self | Feat. Mia Togo

    17/03/2021 Duration: 44min

We call them stories. Or shadows. Sometimes even trauma. We give many names to our life experiences, the ones that have shaped us for the better or worse. Mine include a laundry list of drugs, alcohol and self-inflicted harm. I did most of that, because I truly believed I didn’t deserve any better. I felt that way for a long, long time until I decided to get to know my pain. My shadow and trauma work started in yoga. The practice gave me the container to feel safe enough to hold what was there. As a teacher, I never want to force a student into a pose or position they’re not comfortable or ready for, physically or emotionally. Holding space for all of that requires a certain kind of mindset!Mia Togo @miatogo and I have been in each other’s orbit and I finally caught up with her to chat and go deeper into the wide world of shadow work. She has a unique gift of creating a container, whether that be in person or in online environments where she helps people feel safe to go in and excavate what is going on inside

  • 157 | Yoga Teachers Should Thrive| Feat. Celest

    10/03/2021 Duration: 32min

Knowing that I’ve found my passion and what I believe to be my dharma has been a gift; however, I know for a fact that I wouldn’t have made it this far without the guidance of my mentors. I’ve studied myself long enough to know that I can only get so far on my own. When I want to go further, I call on the support and insight from those who have walked the path before me. I not only call on my mentors, but I also call on those loved ones who will call me out on my shit and help keep me honest. I can happily say, “I LOVE WHAT I DO” every single day of my life -- even when it’s hard! This is my dharma and it is purposeful.Celest Pereira feels the same. I don’t know if she knows this or not, but she was a mentor to me before we ever spoke. Watching her be her authentic self has given me permission to do the same. She’s no stranger to the yoga show, and we’re both super passionate about helping our fellow yoga teachers turn their passion or niche into a decent living. She has this way of being inspiring even when

  • 156 | Zoom Yoga Injuries | Feat. Dani Ibarra

    02/03/2021 Duration: 42min

I’m injured…. again. Yoga isn’t feeling good in my body (at least flow yoga anyway). I have a little bit of blame on ZOOM, but I do take full responsibility for my current injuries. It’s my own dang fault for not learning when to take a break. I often preach to students that you can make the practice yours by adjusting the intensity and I have never really thought about making that choice in my teaching practice. Why not give myself permission and lead by example? I feel like my injury came at the right time since I’m in an online teacher training that’s a bit slower than my normal vinyasa-based flow stuff and it’s slowing me down. Forcing me to pay attention.Dani Ibarra is one of those humans I call a COVID blessing. She’s one of the main teachers in a teacher training program that I am a part of right now. She’s a seasoned teacher who studied with someone whom I have always admired over my yoga career, Maty Ezraty. In this episode of SEEKER + SAGE she points out how we need to adjust both our practice and o

  • 155 | The T Word, Trauma | Feat. Jennifer Harper

    28/02/2021 Duration: 45min

The T-word is out this week! TRAUMA... We've all got it. And although it's sometimes hard to talk about, it's important to acknowledge it. I'd never heard of Jennifer Harper before, but this wonderful human is helping kids and adults unpack this thing we call trauma. And she is getting us a bit more in tune with what's going on inside of ourselves. This is one of those episodes where I sat back and took notes the entire time! • 154 | Yoga Deconstructed | Feat. Trina Altman

    17/02/2021 Duration: 42min

I've always considered myself an asana-based teacher. And, for the most part, I just “get it” when it comes to postural alignment. As a vinyasa junkie, I am always looking for new ways to apply modern movement science to the way I teach classes and lead my yoga teacher trainings. My teaching completely changed a few years back thanks to the lovely human behind Yoga Deconstructed®. She made me fall in love with asana all over again! If you're not following Trina Altman @trinaaltman, you should start now. This week she's back on the SEEKER + SAGE pod and she's got some big news! I for one am super proud of her and selfishly so happy that she WROTE A BOOK! I picked her new read up and truthfully could not put it down until I finished it. One of my favorite parts about hosting this podcast is hosting amazing yogis and business minds with so much knowledge to pass on. Trina is no exception! Tune into the show and listen to her amazing journey! Oh, and pick up the book! You'll thank yourself later. Li

  • 153 | Black Boys OM | Fiecre Calm #yogasavedmylife Feat. Danny Fluker

    10/02/2021 Duration: 34min

You have probably been able to tell that a big part of my journey recently is the practice of anti-racism. It took me a while to realize how much simply presenting as white can shape and change someone’s daily life. This realization has helped me learn and grow and it has also shifted the way I run a few things in my life. One of the things I'm fully committed to is opening up gateways to bring more yogis of all colors into the fold. One way I’m excited to do right away is to use my platforms to raise up other BI-POC, queer, trans and other unheard voices. This week on the Seeker+Sage podcast I had the honor of interviewing Danny Fluker. Danny is an incredible human who is also driven to bring yoga out into the world -- specifically to men of color. We get down into the nitty-gritty of his purpose and his mission. He shares his story on how yoga has helped shape his life. This is one of those episodes I had to playback to just deeply hear his message and get all those awesome nuggets.&

  • 152 | Everyone Deserves to Feel Better | Feat. Tara Stiles

    03/02/2021 Duration: 45min

Looking back at 2020, the thing I can recall most was my depression in the middle of last summer and how badly I wanted out... no matter what it took. I knew I was either going to do something incredibly self-destructive or something that would change my life for the better. I sat with this choice and came to the conclusion that I was worthy of better. In fact, I knew I deserved it. It's not easy, but I took the necessary steps to change up my routine and simplify my life. And this podcast speaks to just that - the value of your worth and the steps to take to feel at your best. On this week's episode, I have the pleasure of speaking with Tara Stiles, she is an author and true believer in the notion that everyone deserves to feel better. She believes this so much, she wrote THE book about it. She shares her tools on how to help us return home to ourselves. Tara and I must have been separated at birth. The moment we started speaking on this week's podcast, I knew she was a true Sage. Tara is down-to-earth, r

  • 151 | From Misfit to Sage | Danni Gets Interviewed

    27/01/2021 Duration: 38min

There are some big changes happening over in the land of Danni Pomplun. This week on the show I'm interviewed by the one and only Steven Andrew @stevenandrewyoga. Some of you might know Steven as my go-to sub when I can't be with you for class. He's definitely saved the day a few times in my life and has definitely been a true support when I needed it. He's not only seen the evolutions of my own life but also of the community as well. I feel really comfortable with Steven and he got me to open up and share where I'm going this year and how I came to those realizations. • 150 Back to Breath| Fierce Calm #yogasavedmylife Feat. Richie Bostock

    20/01/2021 Duration: 41min

Richie Bostock has popped in and out of my world for a little over a year now. My friends over at Fierce Calm @fiercecalm mentioned that we HAD to sync up and I am so happy we did. As one does, we got him to come on the podcast to chat with us about his wellness path. He brings breath work practice into the day to day similarly to how I bring yoga into the day to day. It's always interesting for me to hear what tools have been successful in helping others to achieve balance, grounding, and self-care. Yoga has many ways of doing this, but Richie has taken what he's learned and gave this practice an approach of his own. I got to experience it myself firsthand, and it's pretty freaking amazing! Stick around for the end of the show, where he guides us into an awesome breathing session. Follow Richie on Instagram @thebreathguyClick here to join our Facebook Group! Check out my App! • 149 | Checking in with Danni | Feat. Sheri Colosimo

    13/01/2021 Duration: 50min

Oh wow... Y'all this episode is a doozy. Listen, when I say something is tough for me, it's REALLY tough for me. In this week's Seeker+Sage, I share about living through one of my WORST NIGHTMARES. Even while opening up about this moment in my life, I quickly started to feel that dreadful shame monster creeping in. You know the one... The one that causes anxiety, internalized judgment, and debilitating fear... Ugh, I hate that thing! Gawd! Luckily, I was quickly reminded that I AM HUMAN by one of my favorite people on the planet. My good gal pal and leadership coach Sheri Colosimo is on this week and she takes us on a deeper dive into the world and transformation of the Danni you see before you today. Sheri has known me for almost a decade and has truly been there through thick and thin. She always has a way of reminding me that sh*t happens; it's our ability to not be defined by our own internal judgments that allow us to grow and move on. Needless to say, however, it's still a pretty funny story.Last year w

  • 148 Online Teacher Trainings Feat. Adam Carney

    06/01/2021 Duration: 47min

And the podcast is back! Phew! Getting back from my two-week break and I'm feeling pumped. The first show of the year features Adam Carney from Yoga East+West. Truthlyfully. I have been dying to talk to another teacher about their experience with online yoga teacher training since this whole Covid thing struck.Adam runs a well know teacher training company that I truly respect and admire. He offers a solid quality product, experience, and journey for new students looking to become teachers. We get to chatting a bit about what we currently see on IG from teachers and how we feel about programs being offered and how we can learn, grow, and do better for our own programs. Adam was super insightful and helped me see through some of my own judgments and also speaks to how he decided to do things differently. Look, I have a ton of opinions on this subject right now and I don't think mines are any better or any worse than others. I'm excited for you to check out what we have to say and to meet Adam. He's a great guy
